You may or may not know that it has been scientifically proven that diet has nothing to do with Acne. But it is advisable to practice healthy lifestyle and diet too.
The following is a list of reactive foods that can potentially aggravate your acne, however some people may be resistant to a particular food while others may not. Not all foods react the same with all people.
The list is extracted from a book titled "Acne free in 3 days" by Chris Gibson.
1. Caffeine - sodas and chocolate. Caffeine is a stimulant and can be found in many different foods. Coffee and cola are the more well-know examples, but caffeine is also in many other foods. The stimulant properties in caffeine seem to aggravate both acne breakouts and Candida infections.
2.Sugars — particularly refined such as white and powdered. Sugar is also in many different foods. In its natural form, such as in fruit (fructose), it is easily digested and managed by the body.
In its highly concentrated and refined form, it wreaks havoc on the body, especially in people who are suffering with Candida infections. The Candida yeast in the body must have sugar to grow and thrive. Cutting all refined sugar, and even natural sugar for a time, is the best way to eliminate Candida yeast overgrowth.
3. Vinegar — also in many foods, from canned veggies to catsup, mustard, and salad dressing. Vinegar doesn’t cause problems for all individuals, but many have sensitivity to it and do not even know it.
4. MSG — monosodium glutamate is found in most processed foods. Many people have sensitivities to MSG and in some people who are highly allergic to it, MSG can even be deadly. MSG is required to be listed on all foods, as it is added as a flavor enhancer and preservative.
Some symptoms of MSG sensitivity are extreme tiredness and sleepiness right after ingesting it. Skin reactions usually occur within 24 hours.
5. Bananas — Believe it or not, a lot of people have high skin sensitivity to bananas. Usually, these same people have an acute sensitivity to pineapple as well.
6.Iodine — such as in seafood like shrimp and lobster. Most people with sensitivities to seafood already know they have a problem. What a lot of acne and Candida sufferers don’t know is, even if they seem to be able to eat seafood with no trouble, the iodine content has been shown to aggravate acne breakouts. The iodine seems to release a lot of stored toxins in the blood and leads to greater and more prolonged breakouts.
7. Animal lard — Animal fats are much different in their nature than are vegetable fats. Animal lard is rancid. Look at it this way, fat begins to decompose naturally just like tissue. This is a natural process of nature.
As it breaks down, it creates toxins, but vegetable fats do not undergo the same process. Any kind of animal lard is not good for the body and can really create a good environment for Candida infections to grow and prosper.
8. Dark colas — The coloring used in colas and syrups are artificial and can also excite acne conditions. Dark cold drinks are notorious because they contain so much more of the additives that can harm the body.
Staying away from dark colas will usually help tame acne breakouts. If you’re someone with acne and drinks a lot of dark cold drinks, then you should consider eliminating them or greatly reducing your consumption of them.
